MARTY UPDATE - Marty is no longer making new guitar instruction videos for GuitarJamz. He is creating terrific new lessons and content with MartyMusic.com along with a new YouTube channel.
I have enjoyed Marty Schwartz's lesson for a while now and I enjoy his method of teaching. I joined his site and enjoyed it for quite a while. Recently I have had trouble logging in to the site and I cannot get any support. I have sent emails and private messages with absolutely no response. Very disappointing.
Hello Rinaldo, Thank you for your interest in Guitar Jamz. Please let us know if you need our assistance, in order to provide it to you as soon as possible. Please contact us at customer_support@guitarjamz.com We are deeply sorry for this delay.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and also for responding to Rinaldo's comment! It's great that you left your contact information and also are making yourself available for customer assistance.
Thanks for the comment Rinaldo! I have also noticed that it is a little difficult to reach Marty directly. My feeling is that he is probably swamped with so much feedback due to his popular online lessons. Hopefully the customer support will improve over time.
I have been watching Marty on Youtube for the past few weeks and finally decided to click on the link below the video and checked out his website. There are free lessons you can access on there as well. Somehow I wound up stumbling onto your blog and found the Guitar Coaching Club deal which I ordered without even giving it a second thought. I received the DVD's today two days after I ordered them. I am very excited to start going through them.
Glad to hear that you decided to purchase Marty's Guitar Coaching Club! I did the same and there are so many fun DVD's and lessons to go through. Plus, I like being able to have lifetime access to all of Marty's videos on GuitarJamz.com as well as automatically receive future DVD's through this club. Thanks for the feedback and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
I bought Marty's Blues Domination lesson series iPad app because I was so impressed with the free apps of his. What a pity that it us almost, but not quite, useless. All of the videos are in the wrong order and the manuals are not available which makes tying to follow the lesson plan very frustrating. I have tried emailing customer support and have left messages on the Facebook page and have not got any reply back. Very disappointed as Marty is such a good teacher! I am very disappointed as the app wasn't exactly cheap
Thanks for your feedback Jimmy. I have not downloaded Marty's iPad application and I'm more familiar with his DVD's and onlne videos through GuitarJamz.com and YouTube. Also, I believe Marty also has some free apps for mobile devices.
However, I have also experienced some issues with trying to receive support through their customer service e-mail. Hopefully this will improve over time...
I am a guitar coaching club member and I paid my $397. Now guitarjamz.com says my "lifetime" membership has expired and they want me to sign up again. Since I'm not dead yet, I don't think my lifetime membership should be expired. They even sent me emails about re-enrolling in the club. If I really had a lifetime membership, why do I need to re-enroll? What a rip off!! At least I still have the DVDs so I can use those for the rest of my life. Not giving gutarjamz another penny!
Hi Michael, thanks for your comment and sorry to hear that you are having issues logging into GuitarJamz.com. I am also a Guitar Coaching Club member had a similar login issue a few months ago. I e-mailed their customer service (customer_support@guitarjamz.com) and they were able to reset my online access. I can now login to view all of the videos.
I'm not sure why this happened, but I would suggest you take the same action and have them reset your access.
Please let me know if I can do anything to help on my side. Since it is lifetime access, I would expect they should help you resolve this login issue shortly.
To be fair I have to report the good with the bad. After contacting their premium member support, the issue was resolved and my subscription was reinstated. About two rounds of emails and I was back in the system. Kudos to the support staff for a prompt response and positive resolution. Much obliged!
I bought the guitar coaching club for $397 and have not received an email on how to access the online videos, or get the e-books or the downloads, or the VIP access whatever that is, or a tracking number for my dvd shipment.
I sent emails, called and left a messages with customer support, but haven't heard anything back, I am so disappointed because all I have is the email saying I paid for it.
He seems like a great guy in the you tube videos, but the customer support is non existent
Thanks for your feedback JRA and sorry to hear that you have not been able to access Marty's Guitar Coaching Club material. I bought my GCC membership in 2012 and believe I received an e-mail right away with login access information. Did you check your spam folder to see if perhaps it went there by default?
Also, I looked at my GCC receipt this morning and the confirmation e-mail address was from "guitarjamz@yahoo.com". I would follow-up with GuitarJamz again through this e-mail.
Unfortunately I, along with others, have had difficulty at times reaching their customer service. Hopefully this improves over time. If I can be of additional assistance, please feel free to send me a private message under the "Contact" tab on my site. Hopefully you receive GCC access and the DVD"s soon, because I've found them to be filled with lots of terrific lessons! Thanks and good luck!
Hello, We are deeply sorry to hear about this inconvenience. Please e-mail again to customer_support@guitarjamz.com and rest assured that this time you will receive our best assistance, along with our most sincere apologies.
I am a GCC member and agree with many of the comments here about the bad customer service. Guitar lessons are ok but I have had to constantly monitor my membership as I have just been 'forgotten' a few times. Like the latest Hendrix series. Didn't receive anything and when I contact Marty on fb I get told that it is not on dvd only available as a download. So I email him as he suggests and still no download info. Marty needs to smarten up his act and until he does I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GUITAR COACH CLUB to anyone. If I had my time over I would just sit on his mailing list, buy the odd dvd offer from Marty or his mates eg: David Taub because they usually come with a years subscription to either or both of their websites as part of the deal. The downside of being on his mailing list though is the lame 'let me tell you a story about a friend of mine' pitch. Sounds like a used car salesman.
Thanks for your feedback and I definitely understand your frustrations about the customer service for GuitarJamz. You may want to try e-mailing "guitarjamz@yahoo.com" or "customer_support@guitarjamz.com" to help with login or download issues, if you haven't done so already.
Also, if I can help with anything on my side, please feel free to send me a message through the "Contact" tab on my blog. I am happy to try and be of assistance with contacting their support, if needed.
my wife and son paid for my lifetime membership last year, because I thought getting all the DVD's Marty had done, plus he promised everything he did in the future would be sent to me through the mail on DVD. {I don't use the computer very much, so I have visited his coaching club site only once or twice). He has only done the Hendrix stuff since I joined his club and he says it is by digital download only (what ever that is). When I joined the coaching club, there was no mention of digital downloads. I don't want or need digital downloads. When I joined, all of his adds stated that (ALL FUTURE LESSONS WOULD BE SENT BY DVD THROUGH THE MAIL WITHOUT ME HAVING TO LIFT A FINGER) I can understand if he wants to change his method of sending lessons to new members after he started offering digital downloads, but for the older members, the promised DVD,s should be sent as promised.
Good point about new courses and digital downloads for GCC members. I agree and would also expect that for older members (and others who request it), new courses should be offered through DVD by mail as an option.
Hello, We are deeply sorry to hear about this inconvenient situation. We ask you kindly to e-mail again at: customer_support@guitarjamz.com and be sure that you will have all our attention in order to receive the answers that you need. Please accept our sincerest apologies.
I am also a GCC member and will agree that I don't want or need digital downloads. I really just want it sent to me on a DVD for safe keepings. What if Marty's site(s) go away? Plus, I don't care for how this was done through a different site. On top of having the CD's sent to me, I would really like to these Hendrix lessons put on the main site. Why don't they also have these as part of the lessons where premium users can access them directly online? They could do it the same as they do the free lessons. If you are a premium user, then you get access to the Hendrix lessons. Plus you have the CD's to fall back on.
I have contacted their customer service with my request to have the Hendrix lessons sent to me. I received a quick reply stating that they have contacted their shipping department with my request. I don't know what that means. Are they saying yes we will ship these out to you, or that their shipping department needs to approve this?? They could have been a little human and said that they will take care of it for me and get them sent out right away. At this point I'm not sure if they are going to ship them to me or not. Even the customer support comments on this page are very generic.
I will follow-up and let all of you know if I was able to get these lessons sent to me. I'm also wondering what their future plans are with the release of other lessons.
All in all, I still like the product and think that Marty is a good teacher.
Hello Ron, Thank you for your feedback and rest assured that we will keep in mind your suggestions. Our shipping team was contacted and that means that they have started the procedures in order to send you the lessons on DVD. Also, we are currently working on putting this new lessons on the main site, so that can be more easy to follow. Please contact us on customer_support@guitarjamz.com for any other question that you might have. Have a nice day!
Hi Ron, thanks for your comment on the Jimi Hendrix course from GuitarJamz. Just wanted to let you know that their customer service team recently sent the course to me on DVD. Hopefully you have also received your DVD in mail too! Cheers!
Hey Marty here! thanks so much for the support everyone! I can see that I have already helped a few of these customers, but anyone that ever has an issue can email me personally at martyfs@mac.com I always do my best to take care of any customer's needs! thanks again,
You rock Marty!!! Thanks so much for all of your amazing guitar lessons and terrific offerings through GuitarJamz.com! I really appreciate you leaving a comment on my blog. Cheers, Josh
Sorry, Marty. You talk happy customers but for many of us it hasn't been the case. I don't know too many people who are happy to receive nearly $400 for a product (like you do with the GCC) then leave emails unanswered and download links unsent. You're ok on the guitar but dealing with you otherwise is a pretty poor experience. The fact that you won't acknowledge peoples concerns seems to indicate that you are hoping we might just fade away and leave you alone. Disappointing. Josh, thankyou for allowing us to freely express ourselves here on your blog. It's the only unbiased review of Guitarjamz that I've seen anywhere on the net. I hope it will help others to make an informed decision whether to buy from Marty or not. I only wish I had seen this page before I purchased anything from Guitarjamz.
Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear that you have not been able to hear back from GuitarJamz . If I can be of assistance in any way, please feel free to send me an e-mail (josh@foundmypassion.com) and I'll be happy to help, if possible.
I'd love to join the Guitar Coaching Club. But since I already purchased the '15 DVD Blues Master Class Set' plus the upgrade to lifetime membership for about $245 some month ago, $397 for the GCC is not really cheap. I wish there was a special upgrade price for people like me. I submitted a request to support but didn't receive an upgrade offer so far.
Oh, for those of you who haven't yet bought any DVD sets, I highly recommend to take this chance to join the GCC, in my opinion it's worth every penny. [anonymous, as Google Account is not accepted, comment disappeared] cheers, Guenther
Hi Josh, I just received an offer from support for upgrading to the GCC at a very reasonable price. I believe the offer is taylored individually depending on the member status and previous purchases, so it isn't possible to tell a certain price for anyone. Anyway, the good news is that the GuitarJamz guys don't let us down, they do an incredible job to find ways to fulfill customer requests, thumbs up!
I am looking forward to become a GCC member real soon! Marty and his team rocks! Cheers, Guenther
Awesome! Thanks for the update Guenther, and I'm happy to hear that GuitarJamz customer support was able to help you with a GCC membership. Enjoy! Josh =)
I am glad I found this site. I recently purchased the premium member access to the guitarjamz.com website and have not been able to access anything on it yet. I have called, emailed the support address and now have tried to email Marty directly using the address I found above. Hopefully someone will respond or refund my money. I truly enjoy Marty's You Tube videos but am getting frustrated with the web support.
Thanks for your feedback Jeff. Hopefully, you'll hear back soon from GuitarJamz customer service. If you still need help, please contact me directly and I'll be happy to try and assist on my side.
Like Jeff I have also had trouble with Premium access. I have previously posted here but looks like postings are vetted - given that after having sent 4 emails over 8 days with no response i wasn't overly complimentary about Marty I didn't make it. Good news was I finally got a response saying I should receive a pass word reset and all would be good - I did and it wasn't.
Thanks for your comment and sorry to hear that you are also having login issues regarding GuitarJamz.com Premium Access. As I mentioned to Jeff, please feel free to contact me directly (josh@foundmypassion.com) and I am happy to try and assist on my side. All the best, Josh
Update on my account - They fixed my login issue. It worked for about two weeks. Now it's broken again and now the login link is missing from the homepage. This seems to be a pattern with Marty's website. I'm going to request support again and will see if anyone responds. Anyone else having issues?
I can't believe people buy or watch his free videos. EVERY song I have seen (and I have watched plenty) has been played incorrectly. I guess if you are a beginner or have a poor ear, you just don't notice.
Thanks for your comment. Personally, I've been playing guitar for about 20 years, and Marty Schwartz has been the best guitar teacher I've ever come across. In any case, hopefully you can find a guitar teacher who is a better match for you in the future. However, I continue to find tons of value from Marty's lessons.
I have found a ton of value as well. A lot of the songs that Marty teaches are from some of the best guitarists in the world. Marty shows you how to play things so that it sounds like the original. He says throughout his series to experiment and do your own thing - add your own riffs, etc. But if you follow his lessons, you will playing so that your family and friends will know what song you are playing. I am a beginner, but I can follow Marty and it sounds good. I mean, for a beginner, I wont will be able to follow David Gilmore note for note and nuance for nuance, but I can follow Marty and actually play so people will know, "Hey, that is Floyd!" I think he does a great job. I was learning a beginner song from a book that had different chords than what Marty taught, but watched his video and his sounded BETTER and watching him, I was able to learn the strumming pattern from watching Marty and it sounded really good. May not have matched the original note for note, but I was able to put the song on and play along with it and it sounded great.
GUITARJAMZ IS A SCAM!!!!!! I paid for the annual premium service and never got my credentials to access the website. I wrote several emails and called them.... no reply. Beware of this fraudulent company.
Hi Marco, thanks for your comment on my blog. I referred your message to GuitarJamz customer support and I believe you are now able to login to GuitarJamz.com Premium Service on 10/30/15. Would you mind replying to this comment to confirm for my readers? If you still need my help, please let me know. I am a premium customer as well and have been able to successfully login to the site and access all of Marty's online materials. Thanks again.
Marty is actually one of the reasons I decided to make the jump and learn to play guitar at the tender young age of 57 years old. I had always wanted to learn to play and felt, no way now - I am too old. I watched a couple of Marty's video's and thought "Hey, maybe I can this". Went and bought a beginner electric guitar. Got a couple of books to learn to play and even though they were good, I wasn't sure if I was doing it right and started to feel overwhelmed. I joined Guitarjamz and started the beginner series with Marty. What a difference. Outstanding teacher and as others have mentioned, there is enough humor to make it interesting and he slowly walks you through the lessons. After 5 lessons, I feel more confident at playing and feel like I will eventually be able to move up to some of Marty's more advanced lessons. I really dig his youtube tutorials. Even though I don't have the knowledge yet to play some of the more advanced stuff, it is still fun to watch him break songs down. Very talented young man and a treat to learn from. At almost 60 years old, I am learning to play a guitar that I had wanted to learn all my life - just kept pushing it off. I wish I wouldn't have, but hey, I may be really good by the time I am 70! Thanks to Marty and Guitarjamz for all the help - well done.
Love the feedback Strider! You are 57 years young! Keep practicing a little every day and I have no doubt you will continue to improve. Glad to hear that Marty and GuitarJamz have been so helpful for you! Cheers, Josh
I have always wanted to play guitar. I have purchased many guitars over the years, taken a couple lessons here and there, aND never could seem to make any progress so I always gave up. At age 47, I figure if I am to ever going to enjoy playing guitar, I better get to it. Ive always heard higher quality guitars are easier to play, and I figured if I made a real investment, perhaps that may also add incentive to help drive me, so I took a leap of faith and purchased the Gibson Les Paul that I have always desired to play. After viewing countess YouTube contributions, I found Marty. After viewing his free offers, I signed up for his 3 day free access and for the first time in my life, I have all the confidence in the world that I am capable of building the skills i desire and am, no doubt, going to be playing guitar for the rest of my life. For me personally, theres something about the way Marty teaches that just clicks and I am literally stuck to the guitar every possible opportunity. I am still VERY MUCH a beginner and have just paid for my 1st month of full access to Marty site, while I decide which package I may want, but, within the last week or so, I have learned all the open chords and two patterns of the pentatonic scales, 12 bar blues with some awesome shuffles. I totally suck right now, but I am learning at a pace I hadn't thought possible and doing it in my own living room. I even picked up a half way decent Washburn acoustic guitar to practice with. This is my own personal experience with Marty and others may not find similar results but if he can teach this old dog to play, it's hard to imagine he couldn't help everybody. I have no idea what he may be doing "technically" wrong, nor could I possibly care less. The fact is I am now learning and able to make rapid progress. I don't know Marty and have never spoken to him but I am grateful for him and nothing I've read here discourages me, as it seems they address every issue presented to them favorably. Cheers. Roger
Thanks so much for your feedback Roger! Glad to hear that you've found Marty's lessons to be so helpful. Marty has TONS of videos inside his membership site, so lots of great content available to continue becoming a better guitarist! Good luck, Josh
Something weird is going on with Marty and Guitarjamz. Years ago I paid what I consider to be a lot of money to join Guitar Coach Club because you got the promise of special ongoing lessons on DVD. Next thing I know there is no DVD's only downloads which isn't great for those of us without good access to the internet. Anyhoo, the special ongoing lessons he promised has so far amounted to a series on Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. Marty seemed to disappear for a while then started a new fb page. Now I see he's building up a new youtube channel. I saw someone on there ask him what's been going on and his answer was "no comment". He hasn't talked about any new material for his Coach Club members either so I'm thinking I've bought into a promise that Marty won't be delivering on. Like many others on this page I've had login and other admin issues with Marty and Guitarjamz. If only he ran his business as well as he can play and teach guitar! I have tried to contact Marty to ask about these things but have never had a reply. He's got my money so I guess he doesn't have to bother with me anymore :(
Thanks for your comment. Marty has recently started a new project with MartyMusic.com as well as a new YouTube and social media channels. However, I'm not aware his current status with GuitarJamz. Once I have more clarity, I will look to update this page with more information.
I purchased the GCC via your affiliate link and awaiting for its arrival.
I will save all of the dvd's to a new external hard drive that I'm going to purchase as I present one is full.
My question is, have you saved them yourself and know what space I will need up to date. I will obviously allow for future expansion, but need some form of a guide
Hi Terry, thanks so much for your message and I hope you enjoy all of the terrific DVD content from the Guitar Coaching Club!
I have not saved these DVD's to a hard drive, but I would guess it's probably in the range of about 4-5 GB per DVD, depending on the formatting.
Please feel free to leave another comment in the future here and let us know how it worked out and the total amount of space you used when backing this content up to your external hard drive.
Josh, I certainly will and I thought i would add to the discussion.
I've been playing acoustic guitar for about 7 years. I've played on and off and followed no set pattern. I've also, like many friends here, purchased a fair share of courses from very professional guitarists.
But here's my view as to why I have purchased the whole complete package from Yourself.
We only learn in relation to how badly we want something and how well we relate to our instructor. Just because I have not followed and completed my other courses, doesn't mean that I will do the same with the Guitar Coaching Club.
With Marty, I seem to be following he's videos and saying "This is exactly how I would teach, I just relate to him so much". Hopefully many friends here will understand what I'm trying to say. It's also "the way and the order in which Marty teaches, let me explain...
Steve Krenz, Justin Sandercoe, Dan Denley whose courses I have purchased, are absolutely brilliant musicians and extremely nice people who are teaching in relation to how they feel is the best way for their students to learn.
But it doesn't mean that they are showing each of us how to play the way that WE will understand best, because we're all different and that's what makes us all unique.
I have watched many many videos on YouTube of Marty Schwartz explaining the Blues and because I just love the way that he teaches in a way that "I UNDERSTAND, a month ago I purchased he's "Blues Domination Course" and it is absolutely brilliant and I mean brilliant and I'll explain why...
When he explains how to learn the Blues scale, where as everyone else that I've watched gets you to sit through hours and hours of boring lessons learning the WHOLE of the Fret board, Marty has a unique way to teaching so that there's not one single dull moment.
Sure he will select the 5th fret and show the Am pentatonic scale and then the two passing notes for the blues, BUT he won't budge from the 5th fret until you have also played many riffs. Hammer ons, pull offs (and both of them together), them combined them all with going up and down the A root position, as well some other double string strums.
From the start to the end, Marty makes learning exciting not tedious and even once you have grasped all of the above, he then adds just a couple of extra notes either side of the root note, as well as some more riffs and then starts to include some slides, so learning the whole of the blues scale becomes fascinating, exciting and I have learnt absolute mega amounts in a really short time frame.
Also after he has shown you a new riff, he then plays a loop and plays the riff over it and then he'll get you to play it as well and then you'll both repeat it several times.
This is a rare thing as all you normally get is a cd with backing tracks included in the package, well guess what, you get them as well but I personally find that having it continued on from what he's just shown you is so easy and it's not just a cd sound, he's there on the video SHOWING you.
After learning the 2nd riff, he'll do the same, but now he'll combine both riffs together, then jumble them up and let you copy him each time. He's teaching is mega exciting and that's what you need.
So for me Marty's way of teaching and he's course work is excellent. This is why I have purchased GCC, because without doubt, I know that I have everything to win and nothing to lose.
I sincerely hope that this helps some of you decide, what road you are going to take.
I love the detailed feedback Terry and completely agree with you! I also feel like I connect the most with Marty's easy going and fun teaching style. Going through his lessons over the years has definitely helped me become a much better guitarist and I hope it does the same for you. Enjoy the content and thanks again for your comments! =)
Hi Josh, regarding the GCC package, I have now saved a total of 263.49GB's dvd's to my new external hard drive, as well as 54 Jam tracks to my ITunes library which I am just about to message you about.
As he teaches absolutely everything, no one will need to go searching ever again not to mention the life time membership to guitarjamz.com as well as any future content being produced by Marty.
Josh, I have learnt soooo much more on in the past week, I'm amazed at how much I now love the learning process.
Hi Terry, thanks for the update and I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying all of the lessons through the Guitar Coaching Club! I trust all of the DVD's, Jam Tracks, and membership content will keep you learning all sorts of new techniques and styles for a LONG time! Keep playing and have fun! Josh =)
Thanks for your message. Yes, MartyMusic.com has tons of awesome new song lessons and content - high quality and very helpful material for guitar players. I continue to be impressed by it!
However, I continue to see Marty's videos promoted on GuitarJamz through the YouTube channel and by e-mail, although it often appears to be some of his older (yet, still enjoyable) material.
Heck....I want to order the blues course dvds....but you guys got me scared! It's currently like 127$.....Might just pull the trigger and see what happens. I like Marty's YouTube stuff.
Hi Seth, thanks for your message! FYI... GuitarJamz offers a full 12 Month No Questions asked return policy on any of their DVD’s for sale. The Blues course has lots of terrific content, so I hope you enjoy it if you decide to order the materials! All the best, Josh
Marty Schwartz is NO LONGER associated with GUITARJAMS.... If you want to support Marty, go to MartyMusic.com ....not GUITARJAMS !!!!!!!! Any videos you see on Guitarjams that has Marty on it is OLD material they are posting, hoping to make a quick buck off of Marty's work. Avoid GUITARJAMS if you are a Marty supporter and go to MartyMusic.com for his latest lessons.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, Marty has lots of new song lessons and content over at MartyMusic.com and through his new YouTube channel!
However, GuitarJamz.com still has a wide variety of great Marty DVD's and online content. As discussed in my post, I am a Guitar Coaching Club member (GCC), and just this past week received news that I have access now through my account to a new course available called "The Creme de la Creme Blues Lessons" with 3.5+ hours of lesson content from Marty.
So, in my opinion, both sites have outstanding content for any fans of Marty who want to learn how to become a better guitarist. Cheers, Josh
I have tried to contact guitarjamz for the last 2 weeks now because I believe I made a mistake in the order. And I was wondering if somebody can contact me if that's at all possible?
Hi Karen, thanks for your message and sorry to hear that it has been challenging to hear back for your request. Can you e-mail me directly (josh@foundmypassion.com) with your contact and order information. I would be happy to follow-up for you as well on my side? Thanks, Josh
ReplyDeleteHello Rinaldo,
DeleteThank you for your interest in Guitar Jamz.
Please let us know if you need our assistance, in order to provide it to you as soon as possible. Please contact us at customer_support@guitarjamz.com
We are deeply sorry for this delay.
Hi GuitarJamz Customer Support,
DeleteThanks so much for visiting my blog and also for responding to Rinaldo's comment! It's great that you left your contact information and also are making yourself available for customer assistance.
Thanks again!
Josh
Thanks for the comment Rinaldo! I have also noticed that it is a little difficult to reach Marty directly. My feeling is that he is probably swamped with so much feedback due to his popular online lessons. Hopefully the customer support will improve over time.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching Marty on Youtube for the past few weeks and finally decided to click on the link below the video and checked out his website. There are free lessons you can access on there as well. Somehow I wound up stumbling onto your blog and found the Guitar Coaching Club deal which I ordered without even giving it a second thought. I received the DVD's today two days after I ordered them. I am very excited to start going through them.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you decided to purchase Marty's Guitar Coaching Club! I did the same and there are so many fun DVD's and lessons to go through. Plus, I like being able to have lifetime access to all of Marty's videos on GuitarJamz.com as well as automatically receive future DVD's through this club. Thanks for the feedback and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
DeleteI bought Marty's Blues Domination lesson series iPad app because I was so impressed with the free apps of his.
DeleteI am very disappointed as the app wasn't exactly cheap
Thanks for your feedback Jimmy. I have not downloaded Marty's iPad application and I'm more familiar with his DVD's and onlne videos through GuitarJamz.com and YouTube. Also, I believe Marty also has some free apps for mobile devices.
DeleteHowever, I have also experienced some issues with trying to receive support through their customer service e-mail. Hopefully this will improve over time...
FYI... You can find a list Marty's iPhone apps at: http://www.guitarjamz.com/app/all_apps/
DeleteI am a guitar coaching club member and I paid my $397.
ReplyDeleteHi Michael, thanks for your comment and sorry to hear that you are having issues logging into GuitarJamz.com. I am also a Guitar Coaching Club member had a similar login issue a few months ago. I e-mailed their customer service (customer_support@guitarjamz.com) and they were able to reset my online access. I can now login to view all of the videos.
DeleteI'm not sure why this happened, but I would suggest you take the same action and have them reset your access.
DeleteThanks for update Michael and glad to hear that your issue was resolved! Hope you enjoy all of the GCC material!
DeleteI bought the guitar coaching club for $397 and have not received an email on how to access the online videos, or get the e-books or the downloads, or the VIP access whatever that is, or a tracking number for my dvd shipment.
ReplyDeleteI sent emails, called and left a messages with customer support, but haven't heard anything back, I am so disappointed because all I have is the email saying I paid for it.
He seems like a great guy in the you tube videos, but the customer support is non existent
I
Thanks for your feedback JRA and sorry to hear that you have not been able to access Marty's Guitar Coaching Club material. I bought my GCC membership in 2012 and believe I received an e-mail right away with login access information. Did you check your spam folder to see if perhaps it went there by default?
DeleteAlso, I looked at my GCC receipt this morning and the confirmation e-mail address was from "guitarjamz@yahoo.com".
Hello,
DeleteWe are deeply sorry to hear about this inconvenience.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your feedback and I definitely understand your frustrations about the customer service for GuitarJamz. You may want to try e-mailing "guitarjamz@yahoo.com" or "customer_support@guitarjamz.com" to help with login or download issues, if you haven't done so already.
DeleteAlso, if I can help with anything on my side, please feel free to send me a message through the "Contact" tab on my blog.
DeleteGood point about new courses and digital downloads for GCC members. I agree and would also expect that for older members (and others who request it), new courses should be offered through DVD by mail as an option.
DeleteHello,
DeleteWe are deeply sorry to hear about this inconvenient situation.
ReplyDeleteI have contacted their customer service with my request to have the Hendrix lessons sent to me.
Hello Ron,
DeleteThank you for your feedback and rest assured that we will keep in mind your suggestions.
Cheers!
DeleteI admire the valuable lessons you provide in your Blog posts. Thanks for Sharing & keep it up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment and kind words. Glad you enjoying the content on my blog!
DeleteHey Marty here! thanks so much for the support everyone! I can see that I have already helped a few of these customers, but anyone that ever has an issue can email me personally at martyfs@mac.com I always do my best to take care of any customer's needs! thanks again,
ReplyDeletemarty
You rock Marty!!! Thanks so much for all of your amazing guitar lessons and terrific offerings through GuitarJamz.com! I really appreciate you leaving a comment on my blog. Cheers, Josh
DeleteSorry, Marty.
DeleteJosh, thankyou for allowing us to freely express ourselves here on your blog.
DeleteI'd love to join the Guitar Coaching Club.
ReplyDeleteOh, for those of you who haven't yet bought any DVD sets, I highly recommend to take this chance to join the GCC, in my opinion it's worth every penny.
[anonymous, as Google Account is not accepted, comment disappeared]
cheers, Guenther
Thanks for your comment Guenther! Hopefully, the support team will be able to upgrade you to a GCC membership.
DeleteHi Josh,
DeleteI just received an offer from support for upgrading to the GCC at a very reasonable price.
Enjoy! Josh =)
DeleteI am glad I found this site.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your feedback Jeff. Hopefully, you'll hear back soon from GuitarJamz customer service. If you still need help, please contact me directly and I'll be happy to try and assist on my side.
DeleteLike Jeff I have also had trouble with Premium access. I have previously posted here but looks like postings are vetted - given that after having sent 4 emails over 8 days with no response i wasn't overly complimentary about Marty I didn't make it. Good news was I finally got a response saying I should receive a pass word reset and all would be good - I did and it wasn't.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment and sorry to hear that you are also having login issues regarding GuitarJamz.com Premium Access. As I mentioned to Jeff, please feel free to contact me directly (josh@foundmypassion.com) and I am happy to try and assist on my side. All the best, Josh
DeleteUpdate on my account - They fixed my login issue. It worked for about two weeks. Now it's broken again and now the login link is missing from the homepage.
DeleteThis seems to be a pattern with Marty's website. I'm going to request support again and will see if anyone responds. Anyone else having issues?
I can't believe people buy or watch his free videos. EVERY song I have seen (and I have watched plenty) has been played incorrectly. I guess if you are a beginner or have a poor ear, you just don't notice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Personally, I've been playing guitar for about 20 years, and Marty Schwartz has been the best guitar teacher I've ever come across. In any case, hopefully you can find a guitar teacher who is a better match for you in the future. However, I continue to find tons of value from Marty's lessons.
DeleteI have found a ton of value as well.
DeleteGUITARJAMZ IS A SCAM!!!!!! I paid for the annual premium service and never got my credentials to access the website. I wrote several emails and called them.... no reply. Beware of this fraudulent company.
ReplyDeleteHi Marco, thanks for your comment on my blog.
DeleteMarty is actually one of the reasons I decided to make the jump and learn to play guitar at the tender young age of 57 years old.
ReplyDeleteLove the feedback Strider! You are 57 years young! Keep practicing a little every day and I have no doubt you will continue to improve. Glad to hear that Marty and GuitarJamz have been so helpful for you! Cheers, Josh
DeleteJust bought blues domination today stoked to get started just wondering if any one has ordered it before and if its worth the money?
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to play guitar.
ReplyDeleteI have purchased many guitars over the years, taken a couple lessons here and there, aND never could seem to make any progress so I always gave up.
DeleteSomething weird is going on with Marty and Guitarjamz. He's got my money so I guess he doesn't have to bother with me anymore :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Marty has recently started a new project with MartyMusic.com as well as a new YouTube and social media channels. However, I'm not aware his current status with GuitarJamz. Once I have more clarity, I will look to update this page with more information.
DeleteI purchased the GCC via your affiliate link and awaiting for its arrival.
ReplyDeleteI will save all of the dvd's to a new external hard drive that I'm going to purchase as I present one is full.
My question is, have you saved them yourself and know what space I will need up to date. I will obviously allow for future expansion, but need some form of a guide
Kind regards
Hi Terry, thanks so much for your message and I hope you enjoy all of the terrific DVD content from the Guitar Coaching Club!
DeleteI have not saved these DVD's to a hard drive, but I would guess it's probably in the range of about 4-5 GB per DVD, depending on the formatting.
Please feel free to leave another comment in the future here and let us know how it worked out and the total amount of space you used when backing this content up to your external hard drive.
Have fun playing!
Josh
Josh, I certainly will and I thought i would add to the discussion.
ReplyDeleteI've been playing acoustic guitar for about 7 years.
When he explains how to learn the Blues scale, where as everyone else that I've watched gets you to sit through hours and hours of boring lessons learning the WHOLE of the Fret board, Marty has a unique way to teaching so that there's not one single dull
moment.
Kind regards,
Terry
I love the detailed feedback Terry and completely agree with you! I also feel like I connect the most with Marty's easy going and fun teaching style. Going through his lessons over the years has definitely helped me become a much better guitarist and I hope it does the same for you. Enjoy the content and thanks again for your comments! =)
DeleteHi Josh, regarding the GCC package, I have now saved a total of 263.49GB's dvd's to my new external hard drive, as well as 54 Jam tracks to my ITunes library which I am just about to message you about.
ReplyDeleteAs he teaches absolutely everything, no one will need to go searching ever again not to mention the life time membership to guitarjamz.com as well as any future content being produced by Marty.
Josh, I have learnt soooo much more on in the past week, I'm amazed at how much I now love the learning process.
Speak soon everyone,
Terry
Hi Terry, thanks for the update and I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying all of the lessons through the Guitar Coaching Club! I trust all of the DVD's, Jam Tracks, and membership content will keep you learning all sorts of new techniques and styles for a LONG time! Keep playing and have fun! Josh =)
DeleteMarty is no longer associated with GuitarJamz. Google MartyMusic for his latest lessons and projects !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your message. Yes, MartyMusic.com has tons of awesome new song lessons and content - high quality and very helpful material for guitar players. I continue to be impressed by it!
DeleteHowever, I continue to see Marty's videos promoted on GuitarJamz through the YouTube channel and by e-mail, although it often appears to be some of his older (yet, still enjoyable) material.
Heck....I want to order the blues course dvds....but you guys got me scared! It's currently like 127$.....Might just pull the trigger and see what happens. I like Marty's YouTube stuff.
ReplyDeleteHi Seth, thanks for your message! FYI... GuitarJamz offers a full 12 Month No Questions asked return policy on any of their DVD’s for sale. The Blues course has lots of terrific content, so I hope you enjoy it if you decide to order the materials! All the best, Josh
DeleteMarty Schwartz is NO LONGER associated with GUITARJAMS....
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Yes, Marty has lots of new song lessons and content over at MartyMusic.com and through his new YouTube channel!
DeleteHowever, GuitarJamz.com still has a wide variety of great Marty DVD's and online content.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, thanks for your message and sorry to hear that it has been challenging to hear back for your request. Can you e-mail me directly (josh@foundmypassion.com) with your contact and order information. I would be happy to follow-up for you as well on my side? Thanks, Josh
